The MS Oosterdam

Our home away from home was the MS Oosterdam a beautiful and very entertaining place to be when we weren't stopped at a port. When first boarding the ship we had a fantastic buffet style lunch waiting for us. Let me tell you all something, you haven't truly eaten until you've been on a cruise where at least one place on the ship has food available. We also learned really quick that they you are eating about every couple of hours. Throughout the day they have a busy schedule of activities to keep everyone busy: art shows, piano bars, a casino, sports bar, gym, spa, etc., In the evening we would head to the Vista dining room and have family dinners. The staff was so polite and took great care of us. Every night our beverage host would have a diet coke waiting for me. I'm sure he thought we were weird because none of us were interested in any alcoholic beverages. After dinner we would head to the lounge and enjoy a good magic show, comedy routine, movie, etc., Then before heading off to bed hit the Lido deck for some ice cream. We would arrive in our rooms and our beds would be turned down, chocolates on the pillows, and a cute towel animal waiting for us (the stewards would make animals out of towels for you and place them on your bed). The staff was so great and even learned our names, talk about great service! Our last night on board the dining staff did a cute little musical program while serving our dinner. It was incredible!
